Hazardous Waste Case/Site Review: Extracting Lessons Learned and Elements of Successful Scientific and Legal Practices
Brian Ferrasci-O'Malley served as a panelist for "Hazardous Waste Case/Site Review: Extracting Lessons Learned and Elements of Successful Scientific and Legal Practices" during the 2018 Natural Resources Symposium, September 25-26, 2018 in Washington, DC.
This panel focused on a limited set of NRD sites/cases under the Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation, and Liability Act (CERCLA or Superfund) and other federal and state laws in order to extract "lessons learned," with emphasis on leveraging approaches and practices that have proved effective for both potentially responsible parties (PRPs) and government and that could or should be replicated and/or expanded to other sites.
This two-day meeting was held by the Ad-Hoc Industry Natural Resource Management Group (Group) in cooperation with The George Washington University Law School. Other co-sponsors of Symposium 2018 include the Environmental Law Institute, The George Washington University Environmental and Energy Management Institute, and other co-sponsors in formation.
