Yuliya Oryol presented "Strategies for Negotiating Investment Management Agreements" with Susan Weiss, Investment Counsel at the Alameda County Employees’ Retirement Association (ACERA), during an Attorney Round Table hosted by California Association of Public Retirement Systems CALAPRS. The presentation discussed the pros and cons of using IMAs, authority and discretion of managers, agency relationship, operational limitations, standard of care, available structures, relevant monitoring and compliance, investment guidelines, and business considerations. 

CALAPRS sponsors educational forums for sharing information and exchanging ideas among trustees and staff of California public retirement systems to enhance their ability to administer public pension plan benefits and manage investments consistent with their fiduciary responsibility.
