Nossaman Expands Operations In Pacific Northwest With Addition Of High Profile Environmental Attorney Linda Larson

Seattle, WA (September 6, 2016) – Nossaman has expanded its presence in the Pacific Northwest and added to its national Environment and Land Use Practice Group with the addition of notable environmental attorney Linda Larson, who joins as a Partner in the Seattle office.

Ms. Larson has more than 30 years of environmental law, litigation and appellate experience. Over the course of her career, her vast duties have included leading numerous complex litigation matters, with particular expertise in marine resources issues.  She is a trained mediator specializing in environmental disputes, and has favorably resolved disputes ranging from site remediation to endangered species. Additionally, Ms. Larson served as staff counsel to Senator Warren Magnuson on the U.S. Senate Appropriations Committee, as an attorney with the National Oceanic & Atmospheric Administration and practiced for many years with Heller Ehrman, where she chaired its Northwest environmental practice group.

"Linda’s proven track record of successfully representing clients in multilayered environmental disputes—both at trial and in mediation—will strengthen our practice in Seattle and add to the depth of our national team,” said Paul Weiland, Chair of Nossaman’s Environment and Land Use Practice Group. “We are very excited she is joining the Firm.”

Nossaman's Environment and Land Use Practice Group has an established reputation for helping clients achieve their goals by collaborating to develop and carry out strategies at the intersection of law, policy, engineering and science. The Group has been perennially ranked by Chambers USA as a leading law firm in the practice space, and offers strategic advice to clients on environmental, energy, and natural resource issues before local, state and federal adjudicatory and legislative bodies. Over the past 18 months, the practice has added a number of key attorneys to its group, including Svend Brandt-Erichsen, who joined as a Partner in the Seattle office in April 2016, and Steven Quarles and Alan Glen, who joined as Partners in the Washington, DC, and Austin, Texas offices respectively in May 2015.

"Nossaman’s strong, nationwide environmental practice, its deep, market-leading team of attorneys, and the opportunity to help grow the environmental practice in the Northwest were very attractive to me,” said Ms. Larson. “I look forward to working with my new colleagues at the Firm.”

Ms. Larson is active in community affairs, and has chaired nonprofit boards ranging from the Board of Directors of Public Radio International to the Board of Trustees of the Seattle Public Library. She was President of the Board in 2002 and 2003 during the design and construction of the internationally recognized Seattle Central Library.  She holds a J.D. from the University of Washington, School of Law and a B.A., magna cum laude, from the University of Washington.
