U.S. News & World Report

George Joseph, Nossaman’s Managing Partner, was quoted extensively in the U.S. News & World Report article, Not Your Father’s Law Firm.  The article examines how the business of law has adapted to the changing legal landscape nearly a decade after the Great Recession.  In the article, Nossaman is singled out as an example of a mid-sized law firm that is thriving in the current legal landscape - and U.S. News & World Report cites the Firm’s appearance in 2014, 2015 and 2016 on the National Law Journal’s Midsize Hot List and recent AmLaw 200 ranking as proof of the Firm’s ongoing success.

The article mentions that the Firm walks and talks diversity, starting with a website that showcases affinity groups and that this philosophy enriches firm culture and attracts business.  The article also examines how Nossaman was able to weather the Great Recession and its aftermath so well, while other law firms struggled.  Commenting on Nossaman’s strategy, Mr. Joseph said the Firm’s success in that area can be attributed to Nossaman having weathered the downturn with an array of services, including public agency infrastructure support, and healthcare, environmental and water law.  We had areas of the Firm that continued to do well [during the recession] and we’ve been conservative about growing.
