Former California Coastal Commission Chair Bonnie Neely has joined the Firm as a senior policy advisor in the Environment & Land Use and Public Policy Practice Groups. Ms. Neely was a six-term Humboldt County Supervisor and a 12-year member of the Coastal Commission. She served on the Commission – which she chaired in 2009 and 2010 – as a Governor's appointee.
Ms. Neely has a keen insight into the land use and resource issues affecting private development, public infrastructure, and environmental protection throughout California's sensitive coastal zone. She has been involved in a large number of major coastal projects and understands the importance of local government in formulating and updating Local Coastal Programs (LCPs) that govern allowable development. Ms. Neely's extensive coastal policy experience and understanding of the Commission's regulatory process will add a new dimension to Nossaman's representation of its public and private coastal clients, as she joins Firm practitioners John Flynn, John Erskine, Greg Sanders, and Rob Thornton, each of whom have decades of experience representing private and public clients before the Commission.
Ms. Neely is based in Nossaman's Sacramento office and is available to assist clients throughout California. She can be reached at 916.930.7717 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
