Amber Grayhorse is a litigator with significant experience in state and federal courts as well as alternative dispute resolution forums. Her practice covers a variety of areas, including commercial business disputes, class actions, wage and hour litigation, financial services, securities, and products liability.
Prior to joining Nossaman, Ms. Grayhorse practiced complex business litigation for an international law firm and international arbitration in both English and Spanish with a private law firm in Madrid, Spain. She has handled business and sports-related arbitrations before the International Chamber of Commerce, Court of Arbitration for Sports, and the American Arbitration Association.
Ms. Grayhorse served as a judicial extern for the Honorable Florence-Marie Cooper of the United States District Court, Central District.

Representative Work
Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation - Employment Matters. Retained to handle multiple employment related actions against IndyMac Bank and its affiliates; including wage and hour class actions, discrimination/harassment matters, and wrongful terminations.
Employment Claims (California). Defending national and local employers against various employment-related claims, including violations of state and federal laws concerning disability, discrimination, harassment, medical leave, and overtime. Have obtained several employment-related action dismissals, and resolved several cases through non-dispute resolution forums.
Employment Class Actions (California). Defended national financial institutions in several putative class actions throughout California in state and federal court against employment-related claims, including reimbursement of business expenses and overtime. Obtained dismissal of putative class actions.
Canino, et al. v. Exxon Mobil, et al. (Los Angeles, California - Complex Court). Represented manufacturer of gasoline equipment in products liability and wrongful death action. Successfully encouraged plaintiffs to settle upon filing motion for summary judgment.
Guaranty Bank v. Westbrook Fanita Ranch, L.P. (San Diego, California). Represented junior lien holder in pursuit of relief concerning commercial property in San Diego County.
Mortgage-related Claims (Los Angeles, Burbank, San Diego, California). Defending national financial institutions in several actions throughout California against borrowers' claims arising out of mortgage loans. Have obtained dismissals of several claims.
Cumbre, Inc., et al. v. State Compensation Insurance Fund (Rancho Cucamonga, California). Served as third-chair in a two-month long trial, representing an insurance broker pursuing constitutional fairness claims against the California State Compensation Insurance Fund.
AKC v. AKU (Los Angeles, California). Served as lead associate in international arbitration business dispute. Defended a Japanese corporation against breach of contract claims brought by its American business partner. Arbitration resulted in favorable settlement for client.
Estate Planning Dispute (Nevada). Served as lead associate in state and adverse bankruptcy actions for more than $150 million brought against a limited liability partnership, general partners (including one of the original directors of Intel Corporation) and limited partners. Integral part of three trial defense teams, which led to post-trial settlements.
Tuesday Morning Class Actions (California). Represented a multi-million dollar national retailer in several wage and hour class actions. Defeated class certification in one action and successfully mediated another action.
