American Public Transportation Association Legal Affairs Committee Meeting

The American Public Transportation Association (APTA) will be hosting its annual Legal Affairs Seminar on February 21-23, 2016 at the Eldorado Hotel in Santa Fe, New Mexico.  This program will provide up-to-date information on regulatory and legislative developments, industry-related litigation, and other legal issues affecting the transit industry.  

On February 22, Jennifer Meeker will be speaking on a panel at 8:30 a.m. on "Lessons Learned in Large Construction Projects -- Overhead and CM/GC."  This panel will discuss LACMTA v. Parsons-Dillingham as well as the Construction Manager/General Contractor (CM/GC) project delivery method, possible issues with the process, and lessons learned.

At 1:30 p.m., Justin Marks will be a co-panelist on the session, "Rail: It's not All About that Bass After All, It's All About Safety."  The panel will discuss recent legislative developments in the safety culture and performance of commuter railroads.
