California Eminent Domain Discussion Moves Online with Nossaman's New Blog

10.20.2009

Orange County, CA (October 20, 2009) — Today Nossaman LLP announced the launch of the California Eminent Domain Report blog, a forum featuring a discussion of all things eminent domain.  It features original content focused on industry news, events, and policy impacting eminent domain in California.  Posts to the blog, http://CaliforniaEminentDomainReport.com, are authored by eminent domain attorneys at Nossaman.

The group aims to encourage dialogue on eminent domain, inverse condemnation, regulatory takings, and other valuation disputes in California.  Discussion on the blog includes noteworthy projects, industry developments, and reports on key events.  The blog also follows legislative developments and key court decisions.

"The California Eminent Domain Report is an important opportunity for Nossaman to provide the first online eminent domain forum where public agencies, land owners, business owners, appraisers, and consultants can all participate," said Michael Heumann, Nossaman's managing partner.  "It's about reaching out, contributing, and ultimately providing a valuable one-stop resource for news on eminent domain in California."

According to eminent domain partner Rick Rayl, who is the blog's lead editor, "Eminent domain practitioners have witnessed unprecedented public awareness of their field since the Supreme Court's 2005 decision in Kelo v. City of New London, yet no comprehensive resource tracking the law, policies, and projects involved in condemnation previously existed.  The California Eminent Domain Report is designed to change that, and to provide a wide-ranging, balanced exchange on eminent domain and valuation issues facing California."

Nossaman's Eminent Domain and Valuation Practice Group is one of the largest groups of its kind in the state.  The group handles all aspects of eminent domain and other valuation disputes, representing public agencies, land owners, and business owners.  Nossaman attorneys continue to be involved in the decisions that shape California eminent domain law.
