Chi Soo Kim is a litigator who focuses her practice on antitrust, class action, intellectual property, and complex commercial litigation matters. Ms. Kim has experience litigating in both state and federal courts, working on all aspects of a case.

Ms. Kim clerked for the Honorable William W Schwarzer and the Honorable Nandor J. Vadas of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California.

Ms. Kim is also active in the legal community. She assisted the chair of the bipartisan National Commission on the Voting Rights Act to compile evidence for the successful extension of the Voting Rights Act in July 2006. Ms. Kim is a member of the Education Committee for the Asian American Bar Association of the Greater Bay Area.

Ms. Kim is also an adjunct professor of legal writing and research at the University of California Hastings College of the Law.

Representative Work

  • Currently representing global manufacturer of LCD panels in multidistrict antitrust class actions, related opt out actions, and investigations by the United States Department of Justice and numerous United States Attorneys General.
  • Represented investors in Ponzi scheme for fraud and breach of fiduciary duties by hedge fund, auditors, and accountants.
  • Defended NCAA in Sherman Act case, see In re NCAA I-A Walk-On Football Players Litigation, 2006 WL 1207915 (W.D. Wash. 2006).
  • Defended NCAA in nationwide Sherman Act class action.
  • Defended light emitting diode ("LED") manufacturer against claims of design patent infringement.
  • Prosecuted action for copyright infringement against art gallery.
  • Represented buyer software corporation in an action by the target to prevent a hostile acquisition.
  • Represented telecommunications corporation in a breach of contract action.
  • Represented shareholders of closely held corporation in post-appeal proceedings.
  • Successfully won asylum for ethnic Chinese Indonesian refugees.
