REPRESENTATIVE WORK
County of Los Angeles – Department of Public Social Services Buildings – Nossaman acted as bond counsel in connection with the financing of three new County of Los Angeles welfare buildings. The transaction involved the formation of a non-profit corporation for the purpose of executing third party contracts for the acquisition and construction of a multi story office building and related parking facilities leased to the County of Los Angeles.
Orange County Great Park Corporation – Nossaman is advising on the development of a program manager at-risk contract for the design and construction of a landmark public park on the site of a former military base in Orange County, CA.
C.W. Driver - Educational Facilities – Nossaman represents the construction manager at-risk in connection with risk analysis, risk mitigation, contract negotiations, and drafting of trade contracts for the major construction programs of Cypress College, Grossmont-Cuyamaca Community College District, Mt. San Jacinto School District, San Marcos Unified School District, and Sweetwater Unified School District.
City of Montclair - Police Facility – Nossaman represented the construction manager (C.W. Driver) responsible for administering this large scale city police facility in Southern California. Our work included risk analysis and contract negotiations.
Ministry of Foreign Affairs - New York City Consulate Properties – Nossaman has been retained to assist the Japanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs in the development of a procurement and preparation of contract documents for a public-private partnership involving Japanese government-owned properties in New York City. The project involves contracting with a concessionaire to design, build, finance, operate and maintain certain consulate projects, including one or more residential projects to house consulate staff.
American Red Cross Blood Processing Facility – Nossaman represented the general contractor (C.W. Driver) in contract negotiations and claims resolution in connection with this unique and complex project on the grounds of the Cal Poly Pomona University in Pomona. The facility now serves as the Red Cross's primary blood processing facility for Los Angeles County.
University of California, Los Angeles - DeNeve Plaza Dormitory Project – A Nossaman attorney was formerly General Counsel to the general contractor for this $80+ million student housing project, which involved a closeout strategy and a successfully mediated $30 million+ dispute.
