Law Students
Every year, Nossaman offers a rewarding and challenging Summer Associate Program. It provides each summer associate an opportunity to become familiar with what attorneys at top tier law firms do. Nossaman's size allows summer associates to work primarily with partners and partake in real client work.
As part of your research, we recommend an article authored by a Nossaman associate on how to select and get the most out of a summer associate position. The article, entitled "Doing Your Homework," was recently published by a leading California legal newspaper and describes the associate's experience as a summer associate at Nossaman.
Nossaman strives to ensure that each summer associate receives varied and meaningful exposure to the different areas of Nossaman's legal practice. Assignment coordinators allocate work, taking into account summer associates' areas of interest. When possible, summer associates will attend client meetings, depositions, court hearings, negotiation sessions, and corporate closings. They will also be invited to attend social events at local venues and sometimes even at partners' homes in order to get a feel for the community and to get to know Nossaman in an informal setting.
Feedback is essential to an associate's professional growth. Therefore, supervising attorneys are encouraged to provide each summer associate with critical input and support on an ongoing basis so that each person understands what is expected and benefits from his or her experience at Nossaman.
Nossaman proudly ranked 25th nationally in overall associate satisfaction in the 2007 Midlevel Associates Survey conducted by The American Lawyer.
