Mari R. Lane

Mari Lane works on transactional matters as part of Nossaman's Infrastructure and Public Utilities Regulatory Practice Groups. As part of her infrastructure practice, Ms. Lane advises public agencies and local governments seeking to implement innovative tolling projects and assists in the procurement and contracting of large-scale public procurements. Ms. Lane also works as a member of the team providing general counsel services for local and regional transportation agencies in the Bay Area, advising on public meeting and public records issues.

The public agency law-related aspects of Ms. Lane's infrastructure practice are complemented by her work relevant to the water, transportation and energy industries. As a member of Nossaman's Public Utilities Regulatory Practice Group, Ms. Lane represents public utilities that provide, or are seeking to provide, public utility service in proceedings before the California Public Utilities Commission ("CPUC"), including rate-setting and rulemaking proceedings, as well as complaint cases.

Before she joined Nossaman, Ms. Lane served as Legislative Director to State Senator Bruce McPherson and Associate Consultant to the Senate Committee on Public Safety. She has also served as a Law Clerk in the California Attorney General's Office of Public Rights, Divisions of Land, Natural Resources and the Environment.

Representative Work

Bay Area Toll Authority. Member of team providing comprehensive legal and legislative analysis regarding proposed use of video tolling technology for the seven Bay Area bridges managed by the public agency.

Water Emergency Transportation Authority. Member of team that serves as General Counsel to water-transportation agency with comprehensive authority over the San Francisco Bay Area's water-transportation system.

City of Coronado. Member of team developing a tolling and public private partnership feasibility study for the SR 75/282 Transportation Corridor Project.
