Nossaman Announces 2006 Partnership Class

SAN FRANCISCO (May 19, 2006) – Nossaman Guthner Knox & Elliott today announced the election of four attorneys to the ranks of firm partnership. The new partners include: David Graeler and Patrick Harder in Los Angeles; Mary Lynn Coffee in Orange County; and Yuliya Oryol in San Francisco.

"We are proud to welcome five such outstanding attorneys to the partnership this year," said Nossaman Managing Partner Scott DeVries. "We've been fortunate to be able to attract and retain high quality attorneys and through our mentoring program see them develop into partners at the firm."

David Graeler is a member of the Eminent Domain Practice Group and works in the Los Angeles office. He is extensively involved in the condemnation of residential and commercial property and handles cases involving issues of real estate acquisition and valuation, loss of business goodwill, valuation of fixtures and equipment, and right to take challenges. He also has expertise in inverse condemnation. David received his J.D. from Loyola Law School in 1998 and his B.A. from the University of California at Irvine in 1995.

Patrick Harder is a member of the Infrastructure Practice Group and based out of Los Angeles. Patrick's practice focuses on large scale public works construction projects that involve the use of innovative procurement and financing techniques, including public-private partnerships and design-build projects. Patrick also advises owners and general contractors on large scale construction projects in the private sector including hospitals, bio-med facilities, industrial plants and similar projects. Patrick received his J.D. from the University of California at Los Angeles in 1986 and his B.A. from Loyola Marymount University in 1983.

Mary Lynn Coffee is a member of the Land Use Practice Group in Orange County. She has implemented and supervised CEQA and entitlement processes and documentation for many masterplanned communities and development projects. In addition, Mary Lynn has managed state and federal environmental permitting and approval processes, including endangered species permits, wetlands permits, and water quality certifications. She has also prepared and implemented several corporate environmental compliance programs for builders, including storm water quality programs. Mary Lynn is serving on the California Resources Agency Legal Committee assisting in drafting CEQA improvement legislation. She has been appointed as a member of the California Building Industry's environmental Select Council for Industry Litigation, and has just this month been appointed a member of the Board of Directors for the Building Industry Legal Defense Foundation. Prior to joining Nossaman, Mary Lynn was the Vice President of Regulatory Affairs at The Irvine Company. Mary Lynn received her J.D. from the University of Texas School of Law in 1989, with honors, and graduated with a B.S. from Trinity University in 1985, summa cum laude.

Yuliya Oryol focuses her practice on transactional real estate and general business representation. Yuliya's real estate practice includes representing private parties and public pension funds in acquisitions, dispositions, financing, and leasing. Her business transactional practice includes corporate formation, operations and regulatory compliance, mergers and acquisitions, and strategic alliances/joint ventures. From 2000 to 2003, while serving as "of counsel" to Nossaman, Yuliya worked in Seoul, South Korea representing U.S., European and Asian companies, financial institutions, and government agencies doing business in Korea as well as Korean entities in business transactions abroad. She received her J.D. from the University of San Francisco School of Law in 1996 and graduated with a B.A. from the University of California at Los Angeles in 1993, magna cum laude.
