Nossaman Elevates Three to Partner, New Partners Represent Both Northern and Southern California Offices

LOS ANGELES (February 11, 2003) - Nossaman Guthner Knox & Elliott LLP today announced its partner class of 2003. This year's class includes San Francisco's Scott Abrams and Carol René Brophy, and Los Angeles' Linda Cunningham and Christine Ryan.

Scott Abrams is a member of the firm's Business Transactions group and practices in the San Francisco office. His practice focuses on the general business representation of technology and emerging growth companies, as well as real estate. He completed his J.D. at the University of San Francisco School of Law in 1993. He holds a B.A. from the University of California, Los Angeles, where he graduated, cum laude, in 1990.

Carol René Brophy is a member of the firm's Land Use, Environmental & Real Property and Litigation practice groups. She practices in the San Francisco office and specializes in environmental litigation and compliance counseling. Her major areas of practice are chemical regulation, Proposition 65, Clean Air Act, Clean Water Act, FIFRA, TSCA, CEQA and California Environmental, Health and Safety Laws. She completed her J.D. at Southwestern University School of Law in 1991. Carol also holds an M.F.A. from Yale University and a B.A. from Stanford University.

Linda Cunningham is a member of the firm's Infrastructure and Land Use, Environmental & Real Property practice groups. She practices in the Los Angeles office, where she specializes in real estate and environmental law. Linda has significant experience with the development of procurement and contract documents for public and private infrastructure projects. She earned her J.D. at the University of California, Hastings College of Law in 1986. She also holds a B.A. from the University of Nevada, Reno.

Christine Ryan is a member of the firm's Infrastructure Group. She practices in the Los Angeles office and specializes in advising public and private entities in the development and operation of large transportation projects. Her focus includes developing strategies for project development during the procurement process, including drafting and negotiating design-build contracts and procurement documents, as well as advising clients with respect to insurance and surety issues, innovative financing and privatization issues. Christine graduated with a J.D. from the University of Southern California in 1992, where she served as the editor of the Interdisciplinary Journal. She earned her B.A. at the University of California, Los Angeles.
