LOS ANGELES (September 1, 2010) – Today, law firm Nossaman announced that Kelly Pepper has been promoted to the role of Chief Operating Officer (COO).  She will work closely with the Firm's Managing Partner, Executive Committee, and administrative directors to strengthen the Firm's position in the post-recession era.  Ms. Pepper has been with Nossaman for almost a decade, serving as the Firm's Director of Marketing for the past eight years.  Outgoing COO, Marcia Wasserman, is re-launching her consulting business, Comprehensive Management Solutions.

"This is a pivotal time for law firms," said Ms. Pepper. "We are looking at innovative ways of doing business to keep the firm competitive in the new economy. Strategically growing and developing the talent at the Firm, making day-to-day operations more efficient, and addressing the changing needs of our clients are my highest priorities."

"We are confident in Kelly's abilities to translate her success in marketing and business development across all areas of the Firm," said Nossaman Managing Partner Michael Heumann.  "We have a number of new and ongoing initiatives that we trust her to move forward.  From implementing alternative fee arrangements and overseeing major technology upgrades, to improving the recruiting and retention of women and minority attorneys and reducing our paper usage – she has a very full plate."

Ms. Pepper earned her M.B.A from the University of Southern California in 2000, with a concentration in Marketing.  She earned her B.S. from the University of Albany in 1994, with a major in Finance. Prior to joining Nossaman, she was a public finance analyst with Lehman Brothers.
