Pro-Bono Work at Nossaman Touches Presidential Election - Fred Dombo Advocates for MyGoodDeed.org

Washington DC (September 11, 2008) - Nossaman Partner Fred Dombo provides pro-bono work for the non-profit association MyGoodDeed.org whose mission is to honor the anniversary of 9/11 as a national day of volunteer service. Inspired by so many who spontaneously lent a hand that day, the group urged both Presidential nominees, Senators McCain and Obama to suspend critical campaigning on September 11, something both agreed to on August 20. Mr. Dombo has long been involved with the organization, helping secure a bi-partisan joint congressional resolution endorsing the association's mission.

MyGoodDeed.org was co-founded shortly after the terrorist attacks on America, by Jay Winuk and David Paine, to honor the thousands who were killed and injured on 9/11, to pay tribute to the many who aided in the rescue and recovery efforts, and to remember and rekindle the remarkable spirit of unity that existed in our nation in the days following 9/11. Mr. Winuk was personally touched by the tragedy of 9/11 when he lost his brother Glenn, an attorney and volunteer firefighter who was a first responder, leaving his office across the street to rush to the aide of those in the twin towers.

Understanding the importance of having the government's support in MyGoodDeed.org's mission, Mr. Dombo became involved, using his years of experience as a legislative aide, congressional staffer and legislative advocate to promote the organization in Washington DC. His pro-bono work for MyGoodDeed.org has also involved moving forward a Presidential Proclamation endorsing the organization's goals that was signed by President Bush last year.

The mission of MyGoodDeed.org is to transform 9/11 into an annually recognized national day of voluntary service, and give individuals and organizations the power through dynamic online networking to make a difference in the world, one good deed at a time. MyGoodDeed.org has developed a networking website to connect people with common social interests and to encourage participation in community service around 9/11 and throughout the year. The website allows participants to search for and connect with volunteer opportunities in their communities, share their stories and post their good deeds online. Mr. Dombo continues to support MyGoodDeed.org through ongoing pro-bono work. The following link can be used to view The Hill article describing the cease in presidential campaigning on 9/11.
