Los Angeles, CA (September 18, 2009) – Today Nossaman announced that firm Chief Operating Officer, Marcia Wasserman, has been elected a Fellow by the Trustees of the College of Law Practice Management. An honorary organization, the College of Law Practice Management has an exclusive membership of just over 200 individuals. Fellows are invited to join based on outstanding career long contributions to the profession of law practice management. Ms. Wasserman will be admitted at an induction ceremony held in conjunction with the organization's Futures Conference, September 25-26 in Denver, Colorado.
As a leader in many organizations at the national, state and local level, Ms. Wasserman says one of her motivations "has been to increase the role of strategic thinking and its execution in law practice management. We need to get beyond benchmarking and really bring new strategies and implementation to the legal profession."

"This distinction recognizes her many successes and her decades of contributions to the advancement of the profession."
Ms. Wasserman is frequently asked to lecture and author articles on law firm management topics including, advancing diversity, financial management, generational issues, and transitioning mature practices. An avid teacher and contributor throughout her career, she has most recently spoken at local California chapters of the Association of Legal Administrators, the Century City Bar Association, and the Century City Chamber of Commerce.
"Among her many accomplishments is her work over the past seven years on the California State Bar's Law Practice Management & Technology Executive Committee, including serving as an editor and contributor of the group's publication "The Bottom Line". During the same period Marcia also chaired the Managing Partners Roundtable, a Los Angeles forum for Managing Partners of smaller firms where she facilitated monthly programs on a wide range of firm management topics. " added Mr. Heumann.
Prior to joining Nossaman in January 2007, Ms. Wasserman worked for 13 years in management consulting including as President of Comprehensive Management Solutions, Inc. In addition she has 10 years of legal administration experience as a law firm Executive Director and Director of Administration. In addition to her active role in the legal industry Ms. Wasserman also contributes to the broader Los Angeles community. For over 10 years she has served on the Board of the Southern California Chapter of the Arthritis Foundation.
