Marcia Wasserman has served as Nossaman's Chief Operating Officer since 2007 and has responsibility for the Firm's overall operations, including finance, information technology, human resources, library services, marketing, and facilities management. She has 13 years of experience in management consulting to law firms and other privately held businesses. In addition, she has 10 years of experience as a law firm Executive Director and Director of Administration. She was previously President of Comprehensive Management Solutions, Inc.
Ms. Wasserman serves as an advisor on the State Bar of California's Law Practice Management and Technology Section Executive Committee. Since 2002, she has chaired the monthly law firm Managing Partners' Roundtable. Ms. Wasserman has taught management courses at USC and UCLA. Additionally, she has lectured on management issues at local, regional and national educational conferences, and has authored numerous articles on management and operational topics in legal trade publications.
She is a member of the Association of Legal Administrators (where she served on the National Board of Directors), the Association of Professional Law Firm Managers, the Society for Human Resources Management, and Professionals in Human Resources Association. Ms. Wasserman is listed in Who's Who in the World, Who's Who in American Law, and Who's Who in Finance and Industry.
She has been elected a 2009 Fellow in the College of Law Practice Management. She received the Board of Governors' Award from the Beverly Hills Bar Association in 1999. She currently serves on the Board of Directors and on the Operations Committee of the Southern California Chapter of the Arthritis Foundation, from whom she received the 2006 Leadership Award and the 2002 Distinguished Service Award.
Ms. Wasserman graduated from the UCLA Anderson Graduate School of Management Executive Program with a Certificate in Management. She also studied Communications and Interior Design at UCLA. Additionally, she has a Certificate in Legal Administration from the University of San Diego and a Certificate from the Advanced Legal Management Institute at the UCLA Anderson Graduate School of Management.
