Human Resources Coordinator (Los Angeles)

We are seeking a Human Resources (HR) Coordinator to join our Human Resources team. The HR Coordinator will support the team in a variety of key HR functional areas such as staff recruiting, onboarding, orientation and professional development, in addition to providing general administrative support. Key responsibilities include assisting with the recruitment and onboarding of administrative staff professionals, supporting performance management and development initiatives for administrative staff professionals and providing general administrative support to the HR team. The position reports to the Firm’s Human Resources Director and is based in the Firm’s Los Angeles office.

The hourly range for the position of Human Resources Coordinator at Nossaman is approximately $30.76 to $41.02 an hour. The successful candidate’s annual compensation for this position is reasonably expected to be set between $60,000 and $80,000 per year. However, actual compensation will depend on a variety of factors, including, without limitation, the candidate’s qualifications and experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide full-cycle support for the Firm’s staff recruiting, including posting job openings, scheduling interviews and collecting feedback, tracking data in the Firm’s applicant tracking system, etc.
  • Coordinate onboarding for all staff new hires, including processing background checks, completing I-9 verification and processing new hire paperwork.
  • Work with various personnel to create orientation schedules for new hires.
  • Work with Office Services team to ensure that all new hires have desk setup and Firm swag prior to first day.
  • Respond to employee inquiries regarding staff recruiting, onboarding, and other HR-related topics.
  • Assist with the implementation and execution of recruiting and onboarding/orientation process improvements.
  • Create and disseminate various internal reports.
  • Assist with the preparation and execution of the Firm’s annual performance review process including maintenance of the Firm’s performance management system (viDesktop).
  • Provide administrative support for staff learning and development initiatives and activities.
  • Create and maintain department and employee records in physical and electronic formats.
  • Provide project support to the Benefit and Payroll teams including producing routine and ad-hoc personnel reports.
  • Assist with documenting department policies and standard operating procedures and practices.
  • Assist with the accurate maintenance of employee data in the Firm's HR Information System (ADP WFN).
  • Provide general administrative and back-up support to HR team members, as needed.

Experience & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent experience, is required.
  • One (1) year of experience in a Human Resources/Recruiting role within a law firm or other professional services environment.
  • One (1) year supporting full-cycle recruiting, including interview scheduling.
  • Previous experience using an applicant tracking system (ATS).
  • Previous experience using a human resources information system (HRIS).
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent communication, engagement and client service skills, including the ability to interact credibly and diplomatically with individuals at all levels of the Firm.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to work effectively in a collaborative organization.
  • Exceptional organizational, grammar, spelling and proofreading skills with an eye for detail.
  • Ability to handle confidential information.
