Cryptocurrency and Cannabis: The Legal Industry's Response to Modern Challenges

Paul Knight presented "Cryptocurrency and Cannabis: The Legal Industry's Response to Modern Challenges" during ILTACON 2018 hosted by the International Legal Technology Association (ILTA) August 19-23, 2018 in National Harbor, Maryland. 

Paul's presentation looked at the cryptocurrency and cannabis industries, which have multibillion-dollar valuations, and reviewed whether their potential for exponential growth is worth the time, energy and legal hurdles. He explored how law firms are responding to the challenges and opportunities posed by these once-taboo topics. He also explained how and when law firms can accept cryptocurrency, what considerations should be taken for vetting prospective cannabis clients, and whether or not cryptocurrency could be a viable payment and capital-raising mechanism for cannabis companies.
