07.30.2020, 10.22.2020

David Balfour was an attorney guest instructor for the Medical Record Keeping Course hosted by the University of California, San Diego School of Medicine’s Physician Assessment and Clinical Education (PACE) Program on July 30 and October 22, 2020. David spoke on the legal issues pertaining to medical recordkeeping on the first days of both two-day courses. This intensive CPD/CME program was designed in response to requests from state medical boards, risk management groups and hospitals to teach proper medical charting methodology and billing practices.

UC San Diego’s PACE Program specializes in assessing competency and fitness for duty, monitoring in clinical practice and providing remedial education to physicians and other health care professionals. In collaboration with physicians, state medical boards, hospitals and others, the PACE Program works to promote public protection, patient safety and the attainment of the highest possible quality of clinical care.
