Pharmacy Ethics and Professionalism (PE-22)
Tom Curtis joined a forensic pharmacist in presenting a course for PBI Education on “Pharmacy Ethics & Professionalism.” Although all clinicians are at risk for lapses in ethical or professional conduct, some issues are unique to pharmacists. This course was designed by a forensic pharmacist to present these unique topics against a background of other areas of common professional concern.
This intensive two-day curriculum, taught multiple times over the course of the year, laid out the legal and regulatory framework within which pharmacists must function, their corresponding responsibility and a pharmacist-specific professional identity that can predispose to problematic conduct.
PBI Education is dedicated to providing high quality, continuing education events that are clinically and academically based on the topics of professional boundaries, ethics, medical record keeping, prescribing practices, risk management and law. They offer lifelong learning opportunities for professionals enhancing their ability to provide the highest quality of public care, patient care and safety.
