Michael Stroud Comments on What is Expected if Garland Becomes AG
Michael Stroud was quoted in the Law360 article, “In Their Words: What Attys Expect If Garland Becomes AG” (subscription required). The piece provides an overview of what issues Merrick Garland—who President-elect Joe Biden has nominated for U.S. attorney general—could focus on.
Commenting for the article, Michael said, “The new attorney general faces a full plate. Obvious issues from the Trump administration include the Russian investigation, new public integrity cases such as bribery schemes, election interference (given events at the Capitol on Jan. 6) and of course the raft of presidential pardons to likely be issued until Inauguration Day."
Prior to joining Nossaman, Michael served as Deputy Chief Counsel on the U.S. House of Representatives Committee on Homeland Security and held several roles at the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS). At DHS, he was a Presidential appointee and held the titles of Deputy Assistant Secretary for Legislative Affairs and Assistant Secretary (Acting) for the Private Sector.
