Nossaman Adds Noted Healthcare Lawyer, Former Mazars Director, Melissa Borrelli to Sacramento Office
Sacramento, CA — We are pleased to announce that Melissa Borrelli has joined our Healthcare Group in the Sacramento office. She joins as a Partner.
Melissa previously served as Director, Health Care Consulting and Assistant General Counsel at Mazars USA – an independent member firm of Mazars Group, an international audit, tax and advisory organization with operations in over 90 countries. In this role, she provided comprehensive consulting services and solutions to payors, providers and others in the health, managed care and health insurance industry (commercial and government, including Medi-Cal and Medicare), including compliance and regulatory affairs, auditing/operational assessment, privacy and information security, enterprise risk management, corporate governance, contracts, process improvement and due diligence. Prior to her role at Mazars Group, Melissa was the Senior Attorney and Director of the Compliance Department at Western Health Advantage, and prior to that, served in the Knox-Keene health plan legal services and licensing divisions at the California Department of Managed Health Care.

Melissa has taught at numerous colleges and universities, where she has led law, graduate, undergraduate and paralegal certificate program courses. She is a Board Member of California Society for Healthcare Attorneys and the Women Lawyers of Sacramento, as well as a Member of the Bioethics Committee at Mercy General Hospital, Sacramento. She holds an LL.M in health law from Loyola University Chicago, School of Law, a J.D. from University of California, Davis King Hall School of Law and a B.S. from the University of California, Davis.
