Raja Sékaran Named a Healthcare Trailblazer
Raja Sékaran was recognized by the National Law Journal (NLJ) as a "Healthcare Trailblazer” for 2020.
Raja was honored for his trailblazing work as a past member of the Office of the Inspector General for the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, where he was involved “in the first investigation resulting in a corporate integrity agreement against a Medicare-managed care plan.” His work as the first Associate General Counsel of Regulatory Affairs at Dignity Health was also noted. While there, Raja helped spearhead “one of the earliest electronic medical record programs in the U.S., allowing hospitals to donate software to doctor’s groups.” Additionally, NLJ highlighted Raja’s current engagement with the California Hospital Association’s subsidiary—the Hospital Quality Institute— to “design contracting and data protection models for nearly 400 hospitals.”
For this honor, the National Law Journal composed profiles on a select group of healthcare attorneys throughout the U.S. who are "agents of change" across the practice area and have worked on a range of cutting-edge issues.
