Raja Sékaran Once Again Named a Top Healthcare Lawyer

Daily Journal

Raja Sékaran was recognized for the second year in a row by the Daily Journal as a “Top Healthcare” lawyer. He was noted for his work “representing health care delivery systems, private equity investors, hospitals, a major academic medical center, physicians, medical device companies and...providers, suppliers and trade organizations.” The Daily Journal further noted that his major clients include “USC’s Keck School of Medicine, the CaliforniaChoice insurance purchasing exchange, the Imperial County local health authority and Hill Physicians Medical Group.”

The article goes on to laud Raja for his work as lead counsel on a major project to improve healthcare outcomes across California with the “Hospital Quality Institute, launched in 2019, that links the California Hospital Association with regional hospital associations throughout the state” forming an organization “to gather and share a data analytics program [with data supplied voluntarily by California-based health care providers] on patient safety and best practices.”

Commenting on the work, Raja said, “It’s going well and it works well…We are signing up entire hospital systems, which brings in more data. And we’ve not had any negative pushback, so I believe we have successfully structured it to avoid challenges.”

For this honor, the Daily Journal selected a handful of attorneys that have done market-leading work over the past several years throughout California and the U.S.
