Raja Sékaran Threepeats as a Top Healthcare Lawyer
Raja Sékaran has been recognized as a “Top Healthcare” lawyer for the third consecutive year by the Daily Journal, California’s premier legal news organization.
Daily Journal noted that Raja is a recognizable “name in matters related to health care compliance, government and internal investigations, white-collar defense, Medicare, Medicaid and revenue cycle after 25 years of practicing law.” It further highlighted that during that time he “represented health care delivery systems, health plans, hospitals, Federally Qualified Health Centers, medical groups and technology companies, and private equity investors, among others.”
Commenting on some of the notable cases he worked on, Raja said, “On white collar defense, I represented a criminal defendant in a government investigation related to COVID-19 testing. It was the very first prosecution that the U.S. Department of Justice did to go after COVID testing fraud perpetrators [under the DOJ’s COVID-19 Fraud Enforcement Task Force]." Daily Journal added that in the case Raja “successfully represented a client who cooperated with the DOJ.”
Raja also said that given Nossaman’s national scope, he often “works cases with attorneys in Austin, Washington D.C. and other cities.” Daily Journal closed the article by lauding his work “conduct[ing] internal investigations into cybersecurity breaches involving spear phishing and identity theft” which “included forensic tracking to identify the hacker's location, which the FBI successfully used to open a grand jury proceeding into an identified suspect.”
