Nossaman Expands Real Estate Group with Addition of Prominent Attorney Victor Marquez

San Francisco, CA — We are pleased to announce that Victor Marquez has joined our Real Estate Group as a partner in the San Francisco office. He joins from Squire Patton Boggs.

Victor’s practice focuses on residential and commercial real estate transactions, land use and zoning laws, real estate, business and general commercial litigation, state and local government relations and community outreach specialization in the context of land development and redevelopment for both private companies and nonprofit organizations.

He also assists clients on public policy and regulatory matters at the local, state, national and international levels. He represents client interests in the U.S., Mexico and Europe on regulatory and commercial matters, including in the areas of ESG mapping, monitoring, compliance and advocacy, particularly with manufacturers and suppliers in the supply chain systems.

Additionally, Victor is a seasoned litigator in real estate, business and general commercial matters. His litigation experience spans into real estate, business, environmental and land use and employment matters.

Our Real Estate Group represents public and private companies, governmental agencies and utility companies on some of the most complex real estate and infrastructure projects on the West Coast. We handle all property types – raw land, industrial and R&D properties, offices, retail, other commercial and mixed-use projects, hotels, single and multi-family housing, new development projects and undeveloped and agricultural land. In addition to helping buy, sell and lease property, the Group assists clients with tenant concerns, insurance claims, condemnations, bankruptcies and other non-routine issues.

During his career, Victor has been the recipient of a number of awards and honors. These include the Spirit of Excellence Award from the American Bar Association; the Lawyer of the Year Award from the S.F. La Raza Lawyers Association; the San Francisco Bay Area Minority Bar Coalition Award and the Social Justice & Human Rights Award from Santa Clara University School of Law.

His extensive community service, includes: Former National President of the Hispanic National Bar Association (“HNBA”); Former President & General Counsel of S.F. La Raza Lawyers Association; Immediate Past Chair of the ABA Sexual Orientation & Gender Identity Commission (“SOGI”) and a Pro-bono Attorney for the AIDS Legal Referral Panel.

He holds a J.D. from the Santa Clara University, School of Law and a B.A. in Law & Society from the University of California, Santa Barbara.
