Overview
Every advance begins with research. Through trial and error, pioneers have uncovered astounding medical breakthroughs but advancing treatment is not without risk.
We represent physician researchers who act as principal investigators on medical research projects and are faced with allegations of research misconduct. We also represent research institutions, research facilities and subcontracted facilities in connection with clinical trials and studies conducted at those institutions/facilities that are sponsored by the federal government (e.g., the National Institutes of Health), state and county governments (e.g., the Los Angeles County Department of Health Services) and private industry (i.e., pharmaceutical and medical device companies).
In addition, we have experience in negotiating private industry clinical trial and clinical study agreements that are managed by clinical research organizations (CRO's) on behalf of the sponsor(s). Finally, our attorneys have experience in assisting research organizations and principal investigators in connection with Institutional Review Boards (IRBs), whether internal to the organization or external IRBs.
