Overview
Ron Oakes-Cunningham focuses on representing and resolving, on behalf of both public and private sector clients, disputes concerning real estate, public procurements and infrastructure projects. He also has particular experience in representing professionals alleged to have committed professional negligence, companies sued for data breach and privacy violations and resolving insurance coverage disputes.
In both federal and state courts, Ron is experienced in all phases of litigation and has successfully brought demurrers, motions to dismiss, motions for summary adjudication and motions for summary judgment on behalf of his clients, which includes brokers, directors, engineers, executives, general contractors, lawyers, owners, real estate agents and subcontractors, lawyers, brokers, executives, directors, real estate agents and engineers. He also has mediated and negotiated favorable settlements on behalf of clients alleged to have committed data breach and privacy violations.
During law school, Ron served on George Washington’s moot court board, was a finalist in the Van Vleck Constitutional Law competition and completed an externship with the DC Public Defenders office, where he represented juveniles from his hometown of Washington, DC.
