He has a special focus on public agencies and pension funds, complemented by experience with a variety of clients from small entrepreneurial companies leasing corporate headquarters or manufacturing facilities to major multinational corporations investing in real estate.

Sacramento County Employees' Retirement System. Lead attorney of team serving as sole outside real estate counsel for pension fund with over $600 million committed to real estate investments. Advised on all aspects of the full portfolio, which includes office, industrial, multifamily and retail projects in several states. Transactions include negotiating mortgage financing, acquisitions and dispositions as well as leasing and asset management of more than two million square feet of space.
Los Angeles City Pension and Retirement Systems. Lead attorney for the three Los Angeles City pension and retirement systems – City Employees' Retirement System, Fire and Police Pensions, and Water and Power Employees' Retirement Plan – with respect to their real estate direct investments, as well as indirect investments, through commingled funds, investment partnerships, and alternative investments.
San Jose Police and Fire Department Retirement Plan. Lead attorney for team serving as outside real estate counsel for SJP&F. The team is responsible for all aspects of the fund's real estate investments, including; leasing and asset management of existing assets, joint venture developments, acquisition of new assets, and periodic investment in commingled funds or other real estate investment vehicles.
Oakmont Senior Living. Represents premier developer and operator of senior congregate care and continuous care facilities in California and Nevada in connection with project financing, both through tax-exempt bond issues and conventional financing.
Bank of the West. Serving as lender's counsel in connection with bond financings secured by real estate, including industrial revenue bonds and multifamily revenue bonds. Assist with documenting credit enhancement by means of direct-pay letters of credit as well as related supplemental credit facilities.
Electronic Arts, Inc. Represented pioneering video entertainment company in its acquisition of a 25-acre tract in Redwood Shores for use as a corporate headquarters. Advised on subsequent development and construction, including project financing and sales of subdivided parcels for development.

Agribusiness Client. General counsel to an international developer and producer of hybrid vegetable seeds. Advised on international structure and organization, intellectual property protection and licensing, distribution agreements, and acquisitions.
Video and Electronic Games Consultant. General counsel to leading analysis and consulting firm in field of video and electronic games. Advised on intellectual property protection and licensing, contracting, joint ventures, financing, and tax planning.
Foreign Air Carrier. U.S. counsel to major foreign air carrier contemplating entry into U.S. markets. Advised with respect to corporate and tax issues of U.S. operations, organization of U.S. reservation system, and trademark protection.
