Peter Mixon presented "Vested Rights Litigation" during the California Association of Public Retirement Systems (CALAPRS) Advanced Course in Retirement Plan Administration December 5-7, 2018 in Glendale, CA.

During his presentation, Peter reviewed three of the vested rights cases pending before the California Supreme Court: Cal Fire Local 2881, which involves an end to the purchase of air time service credit, and cases involving the Marin Association of Public Employees and the Alameda County Deputy Sheriffs’ Association, both of which involve challenges to the state’s anti-spiking legislation enacted under CERL.

As part of his presentation, Peter explored possible litigation outcomes and their impacts on public pension benefits, funding, and administration.
