Collaborative Delivery - Global Perspective on Contract Management
On September 30, 2025, Elizabeth Cousins joined the “Collaborative Delivery – Global Perspective on Contract Management” panel in collaboration with AIAI during the Water Environment Federation’s WEFTEC Annual Conference 2025. Collaborative procurement is being utilized by owners around the world to deliver projects with greater schedule and budget reliability. It is an innovative approach being advocated by investors and senior management professionals but what does it mean to "on the ground" project delivery and operations? This panel explored global experiences in utilizing collaborative delivery from Australia, Canada, the UK and the U.S.
Topics addressed included:
- Overview of forms of collaborative procurement ranging from design-build to construction management at risk to public-private partnerships/design-build-finance-operate-maintain;
- Successes globally in implementing collaborative delivery on wastewater projects, including distinctions in implementation abroad vs. in U.S.; and
- Best practices for contract administration and management of collaborative delivery contracts.
