Mallorca Conference 2023
Bob Adler and Thomas Dover spoke during the CONSULEGIS Annual Conference 2023 that took place May 4-6, 2023 in Palma de Mallorca, Spain. Bob and Thomas were joined by other CONSULEGIS member firms from around the world for this three day conference.
On May 5, 2023, Bob discussed "Procedure of Tax Administration from the Beginning of Tax Audit to the Court and Possibility to Settle." Bob also participated in the afternoon Compliance program to discuss where compliance programs have not worked and provide his thoughts as to why, beginning with the major banks’ compliance programs simply not working in detecting massive fraud at Parmalat and why there have been major bank failures in the U.S. due to inadequate compliance programs, most recently, Silicon Valley Bank.
Also on May 5, 2023, Thomas discussed the challenges AI presents in IP ownership, licensing and litigation, as well as key privacy and data security concerns, during "Artificial Intelligence & Intellectual Property." Later that same day during "IP, Confidential Information and Privacy Concerns in Tech Transactions," Thomas and his fellow panelists discussed current approaches and best practices in any transaction involving technology, including aggregated data and the usefulness of AI.
