On October 7, 2021, Corey Boock presented “Alternative Project Delivery Models and Procurement Strategies for Infrastructure” during the 2021 Fall Public Works & Contracts Section Meeting in Sacramento, CA, hosted by the County Counsels’ Association of California.

In this presentation, Corey discussed alternative project delivery models that can best help agencies achieve their desired outcomes. Attendees gained a clear understanding of the advantages and disadvantages of different models, including:

  • Construction Manager/ General Contractor;
  • Progressive Design-Build;
  • Fixed Price Design-Build;
  • Design-Build-Operate/ Maintain; and
  • Design-Build-Finance-Operate/ Maintain.

Corey also reviewed successful implementations of alternative delivery models, including LA Metro’s Purple Line 3 Projects, the City of Santa Barbara’s Desalination Plant Reactivation Project and the Automated People Mover at LAX.
