04.08.2026
Austin, TX
12:30 – 1:00 p.m. CT

On April 8, 2026, Brooke Marcus participated on a panel to discuss “Efficient Siting and Permitting for Transmission Projects” during Global Transmission Report’s Transmission Infrastructure South. During this session, Brooke and her fellow panelists discussed overcoming the obstacles to siting and permitting transmission projects in complex terrains, best practices for engaging local communities and stakeholders in the planning process, how federal and state programs are expediting permitting to meet urgent development timelines, innovative solutions to address environmental concerns, particularly in regions prone to wildfires and other natural hazards and implementing terrain-adaptive engineering, and environmental risk mitigation.

Global Transmission Report’s Transmission Infrastructure South will convene key stakeholders from across the region to evaluate infrastructure gaps, explore practical solutions and accelerate progress toward a modern, reliable and climate-resilient Southern grid.
