American Road & Transportation Builders Association 2019 Transportation Construction Law and Regulatory Forum

On June 6, 2019, Patricia de la Peña presented "Reducing Project Risk Through Effective Use of Risk Transfer: Performance Guarantees, Surety and Insurance" for the American Road & Transportation Builders Association’s (ARTBA) 11th Annual Law & Regulatory Forum. This forum catered to an audience of contractors, designers, in-house counsel and anyone involved in the operation or management of transportation construction projects.

Patricia's presentation covered risk exposures and impacts of differing procurement approaches, delving into the framework for evaluating which risk is allocated to which party. She also discussed how audiences can understand contractual risk allocation and tools that can be used to manage risk, evaluate issues that may affect projects, and identify key insurance coverages that can support a successful project.
