SECURE 2.0 and the IRS’ Released Guidance
On June 27, 2024, Michelle McCarthy, along with two co-panelists, presented “SECURE 2.0 and the IRS’ Released Guidance” at the National Association of Public Pension Attorneys Legal Education Conference in Fort Lauderdale, FL. The panel discussed provisions of SECURE 2.0 that are particularly relevant to governmental plans and recent guidance issued by the IRS regarding those provisions. The panel ensured attendees were up to date with the operational and qualification changes after SECURE 2.0’s enactment.
The National Association of Public Pension Attorneys, NAPPA, is a professional legal and educational organization. Created in 1987, its membership consists exclusively of attorneys who represent public pension funds. Its purpose is to provide educational opportunities and informational resources for its member attorneys.
