Overview
Ashley May advises clients on complex federal, state and international tax matters, representing foreign and domestic institutional investors, governmental entities, private corporations, partnerships and limited liability companies. She has deep experience in alternative investments, guiding institutional investors through tax considerations related to direct investments and commitments to pooled investment vehicles across asset classes, including private equity, hedge, venture capital, real assets, infrastructure and credit funds.
Ashley reviews private fund documents and counsels clients on fund terms. She also has extensive experience with partnership and corporate tax issues, restructurings, reorganizations and mergers and acquisitions, as well as a broad range of domestic and cross-border tax matters. Her work includes designing tax efficient structures, navigating U.S. federal income tax rules and applying relevant treaty provisions to optimize investment outcomes. Her experience spans public and private companies, with a focus on corporate finance, capital markets, bank finance transactions and general tax advisory work.
