Derek Knolton

Derek Knolton is responsible for oversight of the Firm’s risk management systems, policies and procedures.  He works closely with the Firm’s Risk Management Partners to implement best practices in law firm risk management and ethical compliance to ensure the highest level of service for all internal and external clients.  Derek has over a decade of experience in the legal industry, focusing on risk management and compliance, including extensive experience with federal, state, and local regulations as well as compliance requirements relating to law firms.

Prior to joining Nossaman, Derek worked as a Conflicts and Records Manager at a mid-size law firm in Orange County.  He has also served as a research librarian at LaVerne School of Law and Western State School of Law.  Derek graduated from Texas Tech School of Law in 2007, where he was honored with the Order of the Barristers for his outstanding achievement in legal advocacy at the law school.  He also served as a mediator for the Lubbock County Dispute Resolution Center.
