Ashley Dunning presented on "Recent and Pending Litigation Over Retiree Benefits" at the California Retired County Employees Association 2017 Fall Conference that took place from October 23-25, at the Hilton Garden Inn San Francisco/Oakland Bay Bridge in Emeryville, California.  During her talk, Ashley highlighted recent California cases that have, and pending California litigation that may, impact public pension systems and their retirees’ benefits.  Her presentation included a background on the legal framework for analyzing the protection of public pension rights under California law, summarized public pension case decisions that have been rendered since 2015, and examined certain cases currently pending in California courts.  The 2017 event was hosted by the Retired Employees of Alameda County (REAC).
