Chris Hughes presented “Bankruptcy Appeals: Stayin’ Alive” on May 20, 2022 during the California Bankruptcy Forum's (CBF) 34th Annual Insolvency Conference in Monterey, CA.

Chris and his fellow panelists discussed best practices for maintaining a case throughout the appeals process. Topics included:

  • How to create a proper record on appeal and effective brief;
  • How a case can be won or lost with oral argument; and
  • What considerations should be taken into account when deciding between the Bankruptcy Appellate Panel and District Court.

CBF is the largest state-wide insolvency organization in California, and brings together lawyers, accountants, financial advisors, auctioneers, trustees, receivers and all other professionals involved in the insolvency practice.
