On July 22, 2021, Ashley Dunning presented “Fiduciary Governance Training” for two Howard County Maryland Retirement Plans.

During her presentation, Ashley discussed the characteristics of good governance for public retirement system trustees. She reviewed the rules that apply to trustees in the various legal roles they assume when governing public pension plan design. Additionally, she reviewed policies and practices that trustees may institute in order to most effectively carry out their roles and responsibilities.

The presentation was attended by trustees and staff of the Howard County Police and Fire Employees' Retirement Plan and Howard County Retirement Plan at a Joint Committee meeting of the Retirement Plans.
