Andrée Blais served as an instructor for a Design-Build Institute of America (DBIA) course, "Introduction to Public-Private Partnerships for the Design-Builder," in Washington, DC on September 30, 2021.

With a slight focus towards private sector design build practitioners, this course aimed at expanding knowledge for both public and private design build professionals. Attendees gained an understanding of:

• How public-private partnerships are typically executed in the U.S;
• The differences between public-private partnerships and design-build project delivery, including procurement and project execution;
• The legal and risk considerations specific to public-private partnerships; and
• How the private sector financing and long-term operations and maintenance obligations change the technical considerations of a public-private partnership.
