On February 3, 2021, Peter Mixon was a guest speaker during the National Conference on Public Employee Retirement Systems’ (NCPERS) 2021 Fall Conference. He was featured in the Legislative/Legal Track’s breakout session, “Legal, Legislative and Regulatory Update,” in which he and his co-panelists discussed recent legal developments of interest to the national public pension community. Topics included the decision of the United States Supreme Court in Thole v. U.S. Bank, the decision of the California Supreme Court in Alameda County Deputy Sheriffs Association v. Alameda County Employees' Retirement Association and regulations recently issued by the Department of Labor on ESG investing.

The NCPERS 2020 Fall Conference offered attendees premium education delivered in tracks that focused on key topics affecting the pension industry: Finance, Actuarial Science and Legislative/Legal. These sessions provided attendees with the skills needed to better serve their fund or union and move forward in their professional development.
