American Bar Association Webinar

12:00 – 1:00 p.m. ET

On May 26, 2026, Amber Maltbie served as a panelist during “Let's Start Talking: The SAVE America Act and How It Would Change Our Elections,” a webinar sponsored by the American Bar Association (ABA) Standing Committee on Election Law, the Task Force for American Democracy, the Pepper Center and Fordham Law School’s Voting Rights & Democracy Project. The webinar was moderated by PBS Senior Correspondent Judy Woodruff.

Do you ask yourself, what can I do to help protect democracy and the rule of law? Well, here is something all lawyers can do: talk about current legal issues with their communities — at the dinner table, across the fence and at civic meetings — to provide accurate information, answer questions and discuss their concerns.

This webinar was designed to provide all lawyers with sufficient information to talk with their families, friends, neighbors and communities about a significant proposed change in our law: The SAVE America Act. This proposed legislation is at the top of the legislative agenda and headlines the news.

The changes proposed, if enacted, will seriously affect voters and elections. This webinar brought together a bipartisan panel of election experts to help participants understand the changes and share with voters that information and what it might mean to them.

Attendance is free and CLE credit is available in all 50 states.

The ABA provides high-quality continuing legal education covering a wide array of relevant topics designed to meet the needs of legal professionals nationwide. ABA members can fully satisfy their MCLE requirements with hundreds of free CLE programs, updated monthly.
