We hosted our 2025 Northern California Eminent Domain Seminar in Berkeley on April 8, 2025 and our 2025 Southern California Eminent Domain Seminar in Costa Mesa on April 15, 2025. These complimentary programs focused on current issues involving right of way, property acquisitions and eminent domain. Key topics covered by our panels of leading industry professionals included:

  • Eminent Domain Update: A review of important eminent domain cases and issues from the last year plus updates regarding the Uniform Relocation Act and project delivery;
  • Valuation Methodologies: Covering the income approach, cost approach, cost to cure vs. diminution in value and related valuation approaches;
  • Expert Best Practices: Expert retention, preparing for depositions and direct and cross-examination; and
  • Early Acquisition: How to proceed with early acquisition under FTA/FHWA rules and best practices for precondemnation activities.

Attendees had the chance to participate in Q&A sessions with each panel, as well as network with colleagues during lunch and an evening cocktail reception.
