Helping a Hospital-Adjacent Hotel Serve Libations to Guests

We assisted a hospitality management company in acquiring a liquor license for the Hope Village Hotel.

Our work included locating a suitable license for transfer to our client, and preparing, filing and handling the license transfer with the California Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control (ABC). We worked closely with the owner of the property, the seller of the license and the third party escrow company to ensure that the license was transferred prior to the scheduled opening date of the hotel. The ability to sell alcohol onsite allowed our client to provide a full-service hospitality experience for guests who would rather not have to leave the hotel premises beyond visits to the adjacent hospital.

Located in Duarte, California, Hope Village provides temporary housing for patients and families of patients receiving medical care from the City of Hope cancer treatment and research facility. The upscale five-story, 147-room hotel provides domestic and international travelers with convenient food and lodging while in town for medical services.
