On May 22, 2026, Rachael Harrington and Trisha Mannie presented “Navigating Applications with Red Flags: A Review of Initial and Reappointment Applications” during the California Association Medical Staff Services (CAMSS) 55th Annual Education Forum in Long Beach, CA.

During this presentation, Rachael and Trisha explored the obvious and subtle red flags that suggest a clinical or behavioral problem with applicant practitioners. They delved into the legal nuances between an initial applicant and an applicant for reappointment. Additionally, they discussed the resources available to medical staffs to address and assess applications. The presentation navigated the procedures for processing such applications and explore related reporting and hearing right obligations. Finally, it concluded with case examples and open discussion with the audience, who were invited to share and discuss their own experiences with difficult applications.
