On February 4, 2026, Rachael Harrington served as a speaker during “Optimizing Investigations in Peer Review and Legal Considerations,” a webinar hosted by the American Health Law Association.

During this webinar, Rachael discussed how to improve investigations in medical staff peer review in order to optimize their value and improve care. The session highlighted related resources available to healthcare facilities and medical staffs as part of the investigation and resources available to providers for improving their practices and any deficiencies in care or conduct with examples of case studies. The speakers explored legal issues related to investigations such as reporting requirements, use of investigations in hearings, investigation when there are concerns of whistleblower retaliation claims and issues to consider when engaging in joint investigations.

The American Health Law Association (AHLA) is the nation’s largest, nonpartisan, 501(c)(3) educational organization devoted to legal issues in the health care field.
